What time does school start and finish?
The normal school day is 8.35am-3.15pm, a total of 33 hours 20 minutes per week. Students who arrive before this time wait in the canteen or the JJCC for Sixth Form.
How do I report my child’s absence?
Please visit our Attendance page for more information including accessing our policies and forms to request absence (medical/non-medical/holiday).
Please telephone or email the school office before 8.30am on the first day of absence from school, why your child is absent and when they are expected to return. Please include the child's full name and form group.
How do I request authorised absence for holiday?
Parents/Carers must seek permission from school prior to any absence that is not medical, taking care to avoid taking their child on holiday during term-time. How do I know if the school is closed in bad weather?
Our website will be updated to advise if the school is open or closed during bad weather. Please check there for information or visit Gloucestershire County Council School and Library Closures page.
How do I know if my child’s sports match is still on?
How do I pay for school lunches?
The school dining room uses a cashless catering system, which enables parents to upload money for their child’s food via the parentpay system; pupils are restricted to an agreed spending limit per day and parents can view online their child’s spending habits to help encourage healthy eating.

What do I do if my child has lost anything?
Please ask your child to check the various places lost property is kept – the PE office or reception. A note can also be added to the daily news to alert staff/students of missing items. If anything is lost on the school bus, please contact the relevant company.
How do letters get sent home?
The school regularly uses ParentPay to send letters and forms home so please ensure you have signed up for an account – paper copies are sent home for those not registered.
Newsletters and other information will be regularly updated in our Recent Communications area.
Is there a homework club?
Yes – every day in the Library from 3.15pm until 4.15pm and is supervised by a member of staff. If your child stays later than this, they will be asked to move down to reception at 4.15pm.
How do I arrange a meeting with a member of staff?
Please contact the school office in the first instance and they can help direct your query.

How do I arrange a tour to visit school?
We have Open Events throughout the year, however, if you are unable to make one of these dates you can arrange a tour at a convenient time during the school day. Please see our Open Events page for more information.
Is there parking at school for parents?
If you are coming to school for a meeting or event, please use the staff car park at the front of the school outside of reception, unless directed otherwise by signage.
Please do not drop your child off anywhere other than the bottom of the drive unless they are attending a trip or for medical reasons (e.g. on crutches).
