HEAD OF MATHEMATICS

Salary UPS + 1.2 TLR (negotiable depending upon experience)

Required from September 2019

The Crypt School is an outstanding co-educational selective grammar school situated just outside of the centre of Gloucester. We are now seeking to appoint an inspiring mathematician to lead this outstanding department. The successful candidate will have a strong vision for the department, have experience teaching across the 11 to 18 age range, and have a proven track record of success in their own professional practice.

Applications are invited from teachers who may be seeking their first departmental leadership role, or for existing middle leaders seeking to lead a large and successful department in an academic school setting. Applicants who are aspiring to join a school’s senior leadership team are also invited to apply: for the right candidate this could become a senior leadership role, with additional responsibilities within the School’s leadership group and commensurate pay on the school’s leadership pay range.

The Crypt School welcomes applications from colleagues who enjoy working as part of a team and who seek to contribute actively to the promotion of achievement and enrichment activities throughout the School. Ultimately, we are seeking teachers who will enthuse pupils in this over-subscribed selective school.

The Crypt School is an exciting and vibrant environment in which to teach and to learn, and our commitment to developing staff has been recognised by an Investors in People Gold award. The School benefits from a supportive culture and a keen and enthusiastic pupil body.  All staff contribute to the wider life of the School and we welcome applications from colleagues who want to make a real difference to our school and the lives of the pupils who attend.

Should you wish to visit the school prior to application – please contact Sue Wales on the number above or swales@crypt.gloucs.sch.uk

Please email your completed application form to: swales@crypt.gloucs.sch.uk

Closing date: noon on Monday 25th March.  Interviews will be on Friday 29th March.
