HEAD OF PSYCHOLOGY & SOCIOLOGY

Required from September 2019

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Head of Psychology and Sociology. The Crypt School is an exciting and vibrant environment in which to teach and to learn, and our commitment to developing staff has been recognised by an Investors in People Gold award. The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be an outstanding teacher of Psychology/Sociology
  • Be experienced in raising attainment
  • Have proven experience of working successfully with A Level students
  • Be committed to School’s ethos of high expectations and the belief that every child can succeed 

The School educates pupils from 11-18 years, and has an outstanding and growing sixth form. A Level Psychology is a long established subject at The Crypt, and the intention is that the successful candidate will introduce A Level Sociology for September 2019. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity for : 

  • Full classroom teaching responsibilities of Psychology/Sociology at KS5
  • Responsibility for the pastoral wellbeing of a Form Group
  • Support from Senior Management and CPD opportunities through which to develop their potential
  • Opportunity to become involved in the extra-curricular life of the school

School Administrator

Grade D – Point 11-17 (£17,007 - £18,672 FTE) £6,888 - £7562 pro rata)

18 hours per week  Term Time Only Start Date : asap 

A new role providing administrative support to the Main School Office, with particular focus on working with the Head’s PA, but also shadowing other key roles such as the Data Administrator.  We are looking for a hardworking, flexible colleague to work within an excellent team.

Exam Invigilators

We are looking for enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our Exam Invigilation Team. You will be employed on a casual basis to supervise students taking both internal and external exams. The hours are variable depending upon the exam timetable, the number of students taking exams and your availability. The bulk of the exam season is in May and June. You will ideally be available for 4 or more sessions a week in those months although hours are not guaranteed.  

Full training is provided, and you will work with our friendly team of experienced invigilators.
