University
Many of our students leaving Crypt at the end of Year 13 head off to university, some after taking a ‘gap year’. Students proceed to a huge variety of universities and study a wide variety of undergraduate courses. They receive tremendous academic and pastoral support in the time leading up to making their university applications and as a consequence they make informed choices about their post-18 education.
Our students are accessing many of the most competitive courses at the top universities. This year 87% of our Year 13s achieved their first choice of university, with 32% of all our leavers achieving places at Russell Group and Sutton Trust universities. Five Crypt students successfully gained places at Oxford and Cambridge.
We run special events to prepare our students for life beyond Crypt, such as university visits, UCAS conventions, information sessions on student finance and budgeting, mock interviews and guidance on how to complete a successful application. Furthermore, we organise visits from university admissions officers and representatives from Bristol, Birmingham, Oxford and Cambridge. We also run information sessions for parents, so that we can also answer some of the questions they may have.
Students and parents may find the following information useful as they prepare for university entrance…
