Extracurricular Activities

All pupils are encouraged to take advantage of a range of extracurricular activity and there are regular opportunities for trips and excursions. Some of the present activities include Board Games, Design Technology (most lunchtimes), Library (lunchtimes and after school if required) and use of the computer network after school.

Opportunities to enjoy music are many and include School Choir, String Orchestra, ad hoc Instrumental Ensembles, Wind Band, Rock Bands and Jazz Band. On the sporting side we offer Soccer, Table-tennis, Badminton,  Basketball, Rugby, Hockey, Cricket and Athletics. There is a Young Enterprise (Business) Scheme for Sixth Formers.

As well as studying Drama throughout KS3, all boys have the opportunity to get involved in junior or whole school productions.

Time Will Tell Project

The Time Will Tell project is in association with the BBC and the Cheltenham Literature festival.  Various schools are given a specific decade to represent - this year The Crypt school have been assigned the 1980's.

Students are required to write a short story to convey their school's chosen decade.  Crypt students will focus primarily on The Miner's Strike.  The students will then transform their story for the stage and present it at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October.

They will receive some help along the way with visits from their decade detective Rachel Jones, the children's author Phillip Ardagh and dramatist Fiona Ross.
